Elected officials work for us. Public support for the United States’ unconditional diplomatic and financial support for Israel is diminishing. AIPAC’s membership totals about 100,000, while Jewish Voice for Peace’s membership alone has jumped from 25,000 to 95,000 in the past year—and that’s certainly not everyone. The issue isn't numbers—it's organization. We have the people, and we could have the financial sustainability, but we lack the infrastructure for a fast-growing and effective campaign to unify us and make our diverse voices resonate as one.
I believe AAPER can provide that infrastructure with the Five for Palestine campaign below.
Important Note: Lobbying is not a substitute for grassroots organizing like Boycott & Divestment. It’s a great way to compliment crucial grassroots efforts with a representing presence on the Hill.

The Five for Palestine Campaign is a project of the American Association for Palestinian Equal Rights, a Washington, DC-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that asks you to support an equitable U.S. policy toward Palestine by taking 5 simple steps:
1) Learn about the Campaign in 5 minutes, which you're doing right now;
2) Sign up for email updates in 5 seconds;
3) Contribute just $5 a month to the Campaign so that it can educate more Americans about the situation in Palestine;
4) Contact your Congressperson or Senators just 5 times per year to inform them about the situation in Palestine; and
5) Recruit 5 family members, friends or colleagues to do the exact same things.
These actions don’t accomplish much if done by a few, but if everyone who cared about this issue did their small part, then it could make a huge difference. It only works if we do it together.
